|Fundraiser this SUNDAY for Bill Holt Clinic (HIV/AIDS treatment for Children)
||[Aug. 26th, 2008|12:11 pm]
Don't forget, this Sunday is Red Hot Salvation, the biggest party the Sisters have thrown yet and the proceeds go to the Bill Holt Clinic for children with HIV/AIDS. |
For more information on the Bill Holt Clinic see below, and for more info on the event, go to azsisters.org
. You can buy your tickets in advance from there online, and bring your cash for raffle tickets because there are some amazing baskets being put together for the raffle portion of the fundraiser. I wish I could remember some of the many prizes we've had donated, but I'm still burnt out from the move.
So I hope to see you there in your best red frock....no matter what your gender! (and for the men who just can't concieve of wearing a red dress no matter what the cause, put on a red thong, a red robe, a red toga, or something else in the spirit of the red dress, and tell them Sister Mischif sent ya!
Don't have the perfect red dress or time to shop for one? Don't worry, one of our visiting Sisters from around the world (even coming from France) will be in the Sister's dress barn to sell ya one at the door. It IS a fundraiser after all ;)
The Grand Canyon Sisters are honored to be dedicating the proceeds of Red Hot Salvation to the Bill Holt Pediatric HIV Clinic at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
The Bill Holt Clinic at Phoenix Children's Hospital
is the only comprehensive pediatric HIV clinic in the state of Arizona, providing comprehensive care for children and adolescents exposed to or infected with HIV
The clinic, founded in 1994, is a multidisciplinary program providing family-centered care. A team of specialists works together at the visits to provide specialized medical care, nutritional support, child life services, and psychosocial support. The team works together with families to maximize the health of children/adolescents affected by or infected with HIV. The clinic provides testing of exposed infants, children, and adolescents. The clinic offers support groups with fun activities and education for children and teens, and encourages parents to attend in a separate group to share concerns and experiences. Summer camp activities
are available at Camp Honor and Camp Incredible, which are also attended by clinic staff, to provide medical support and interact with patients in a fun environment.
Perinatal consultations are available for pregnant mothers with HIV to answer questions about the upcoming delivery, specialized care for the baby and to ensure seamless care.
The clinic has been involved in research as a former PACTG sub-site with the University of San Diego
, with clinical trials along with Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS as well as other projects. For more information on the Bill Holt Clinic, please visit their website at
